Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain engine coolant and disconnect coolant outlet pipe connection hose from coolant pump.

3. Remove drive belt and engine coolant pump pulley, Fig. 38.
4. Remove timing belt covers and timing belt idler.
5. Remove coolant pump mounting bolts, then remove generator brace.
6. Remove coolant pump assembly from block.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting to tighten to specifications.
