Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Torque: Nm (kg.cm, lb.ft.):

Refer to image when servicing or replacing the throttle body.

CAUTION The throttle valve must not be removed from the throttle body.




NOTE Except when necessary for replacement, the throttle position sensor must not be removed.

INSPECTION
1. Check the throttle body for cracks.
2. Check for restriction of the vacuum port or passage.
3. Check for interference when moving the accelerator cable.

INSTALLATION
1. Install throttle body to intake manifold using a new gasket.
2. Torque throttle body fasteners to specifications.

Fastener torque: 15-20 Nm (11-15 ft.lb.)
