This TSB, previously issued as 97-40-026, has been revised and re-issued to remind technicians of the single cone and double cone type synchronizer applications in 1997 Elantra and Tiburon vehicles equipped with manual transaxles. Transaxle Gear-1 (MTA) drawing 43-432-1 has also been revised.

NOTE:
This TSB supersedes TSB 97-40-026.








DESCRIPTION:
To improve the shift characteristics of the manual transaxle, the synchronizer ring of the 2nd-3rd gears has been changed from a single to a double cone type in 1997 Elantras and Tiburons produced beginning August 5, 1996.
