Rear Cross-Member: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. Remove the shock absorber upper mounting nuts.
2. Remove the brake caliper assembly.
3. Remove the brake disc.
4. Remove the brake hose clamp bolt.





5. To remove parking brake cable end, loose parking brake adjusting nut, and then remove parking brake cable from brake caliper.
6. Remove the trailing arm mounting bolt and nut.





7. Before removing the crossmember mounting nuts, support the crossmember with a transaxle jack.
8. Remove the crossmember mounting nuts.
9. Remove the rear suspension assembly.

INSPECTION
Check it for cracks or other damage.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the rear crossmember in the reverse order of the removal procedure.





BUSHING REPLACEMENT
1. Use the Special Tool to remove and press fit the bushing.





2. When press fitting, after applying some soapy water, press in the direction of the arrow into the position as shown in the illustration.





3. Press until the inner pipe projection (A), is at the standard value of 8.5-9.5 mm (0.33-0.37 inch).
