Installation

1. Set the seal guide tool No. 09214-32100, or equivalent, on the front end of crankshaft and apply a thin coat of engine oil to outer circumference of the tool.






2. Install the front case assembly with a new front case gasket.






3. Install bolts by length as shown in illustration, then hand tighten the flange head bolts (other than those for tightening the filter bracket).
4. Assemble oil pressure relief valve to oil filter housing then install housing to front cover.

5. Tighten front case bolts as follows:
a. 35 mm long front case bolts, tighten to 27-34 Nm (270-340 kg. cm, 20-25 ft. lbs.).
b. Except 35 mm long and oil filter bracket bolts, tighten to 20-27 Nm (200-270 kg. cm, 14-20 ft. lbs.).
c. Oil filter bracket bolts, tighten to 15-22 Nm (150-220 kg. cm, 11-16 ft. lbs.).






6. Insert screwdriver with an 8 mm (0.32 inch) diameter shaft into plug hole in left side of cylinder block to lock balance shaft, then tighten oil pump driven gear bolt to 34-40 Nm (340-400 kg. cm, 25-29 ft. lbs.).
7. Install a new O-ring to the groove of the plug hole in front case.






8. Using wrench tool No.09213-33000, or equivalent, install the plug cap into case and tighten to 20-27 Nm. (200-270 kg. cm, 14-20 ft. lbs.).
9. Install the oil pickup and gasket, tighten bolts to 15-22 Nm. (150-220 kg. cm, 11-16 ft. lbs.).






10. Apply sealant Threebond 1104, or equivalent, into the groove of the pan flange as shown.

NOTE:
- Apply sealant approximately 4 mm (0.16 inch) in thickness.
- After application of sealant, install oil pan within 15 minutes.






11. Install the oil pan and tighten the bolts to 6-8 Nm (60-80 kg. cm, 4-6 ft. lbs.).






12. Apply sealant Threebond 1104, or equivalent, to the oil pressure switch threads, then using wrench tool No. 09260-32000, or equivalent, tighten to 8-12 Nm (80-120 kg cm, 6-9 ft. lbs.).
13. Tighten oil pressure relief valve plug to 40-50 Nm. (400-500 kg. cm, 29-36 ft. lbs.).
