Balance Shaft Bearing: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove front case.
2. Remove balance shafts from engine block.
3. Using puller tool No. 09212-32000, or equivalent, remove the right counter balance shaft front bearing from the cylinder block.
4. Using puller tool No. 09212-32100, or equivalent, remove the right counter balance shaft rear bearing from the cylinder block.
5. Install plate tool No. 09212-32200, or equivalent, on front surface of cylinder block to hold bearing puller.
6. Using bearing puller tool No. 09212-32100, or equivalent, remove the left counter balance shaft rear bearing from cylinder block.
INSTALLATION
1. Using driver tool No. 09212-32200 and plate tool No. 09212-32300, or equivalents install the left counter balance shaft rear bearing to the cylinder block.
NOTE:
- Apply engine oil to the rear bearing outer circumference and bearing hole in cylinder block.
- The left rear bearing has no oil holes.
2. Using driver tool No. 09212-32200, or equivalent, install the right counter balance shaft rear bearing to the cylinder block.
NOTE:
- Apply engine oil to outer surface of bearing.
- Make sure that bearing oil hole is aligned with oil hole of cylinder block.
3. Using driver tool No. 09212-32200, or equivalent, install the right counter balance shaft front bearing to the cylinder block.
NOTE:
- Apply engine oil to outer surface of bearing.
- Make sure that bearing oil hole is aligned with oil hole of cylinder block.
4. Install balance shafts into engine block
5. Install front case.
