Right Balance Shaft






REMOVAL
1. Remove timing belt as described under Timing Components.






2. Loosen the right counter balance shaft sprocket mounting bolt until it can be loosened by hand.
3. Remove tensioner "B" and timing belt "B."

CAUTION: After timing belt "B" has been removed, do not attempt to loosen the bolt while holding sprocket with pliers.

4. Remove the crankshaft sprocket "B" from crankshaft.
5. Remove the right balance shaft sprocket.
6. Refer to Testing and Inspection.

INSTALLATION
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following information:
a. Adjust timing belt "B" as described under Balance Shaft Belt.

Recommended SAE Viscosity Grades:






b. Lightly apply engine oil to the outer surface of gear spacer, and then install spacer to the right counter balance shaft. Be sure to install in the direction shown in illustration.
c. Tighten right balance shaft sprocket nut to 43 - 49 Nm (430 - 490 kg. cm, 31 - 35 ft. lbs.)
