Lower Manifold






REMOVAL
1. Refer to the illustration when removing the intake manifold (lower).
2. Remove the upper intake manifold (surge tank), refer to Upper Intake Manifold (Surge Tank) for procedure.
3. Remove the high pressure fuel hose, refer to Powertrain Management for fuel system pressure relief procedures.

CAUTION: Reduce the internal pressure of the high pressure fuel hose before disconnecting it.

4. Disconnect the fuel return hose.






5. Remove the delivery pipe with the fuel injector.

NOTE: Do not drop the injector when removing the delivery pipe.

CAUTION: Be aware that fuel may flow out when removing the injector.


INSTALLATION





Installation is the reverse of removal noting the following information:
a. Attach the intake manifold gasket with the adhesive-coated side faced upward toward the intake manifold.
b. Install a new insulator to the intake manifold.
