Brake Fluid Level Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SENSOR
The brake fluid level sensor or the parking brake switch is switched ON, and the brake warning lamp illuminates, when, with the ignition switch at the "ON"position, the brake fluid level is at or below the specified level, or the parking brake lever is pulled.


NOTE: The brake fluid level sensor is built into the master cylinder reservoir cap.


1. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector.
2. Check that their is no continuity between terminals with the switch OFF(Float up).




3. Check that there is continuity between terminals with the switch ON (Float down).
If operation is not as specified, replace the sensor.
