NOTE: This TSB has been revised to correct errors in the Causal Part Numbers which were reversed in the original TSB. This TSB supersedes the previous TSB 99-50-002 issued March, 1999.

DESCRIPTION:

The automatic transaxle shift interlock and ignition key interlock mechanisms are operated by cabies on the 1999 Sonata. The cables must be correctly adjusted for proper operation of the shift interlock and key interlock.

If the key cannot be removed from the key cylinder after shifting into "Park" or if the shift lever cannot be shifted from "Park" with the ignition key on and the brake pedal depressed, follow the adjustment procedures.
