INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin provides the procedure to install a CD changer (P/N 00201-L1002) on an XG300 vehicle. The CD changer will work with H940HL Radio/CD/Tape (00201-L1000) and H942HL AM/FM CD Radio (00201-L1001). The installation of the CD changer is not warrantable. The approximate time for this installation is 1.5 hours.





The following items are included in the CD Changer content kit:

^ CD Cable (00201-L1003)

^ Brackets

^ Screws

^ CD Changer

^ 8 Disc Magazine (P/N 00201-L1004)

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:

1. Record the customer's pre-set radio stations.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.





3. Carefully pull out the center facia panel and disconnect the Hazard and Trip Computer connectors.

4. Remove the center facia panel (make sure all 6 metal retaining clips are accounted for).

5. Remove 8 screws to remove the radio and HVAC unit. Make sure to disconnect the connectors and antenna before removal.





6. Remove the shift console trim.

7. Remove four screws and two 10 mm bolts to remove the center console.

NOTE:
Make sure to disconnect the accessory outlet and seat warmer connectors (if applicable) before removal.





8. Remove the driver's side B-pillar trim for access to vehicle's carpet.





9. Remove the left rear sill plate.





10. Remove the rear seat cushion by pushing the two front tabs and removing the 12 mm bolts.

11. Plug the CD changer cable to the back of the audio unit. (Make sure to leave approximately 5" slack in cable for future servicing).





12. Route the CD changer cable around the back of the audio bracket and to the right of the shifter (along the SRS wiring).





13. Continue to route the cable as shown.





14. Push the cable securing clips into the holes as shown.





15. Run cable underneath rear seat back.





16. In trunk area, remove one screw at the wheel house trim and run the cable under the trim assembly.





17. Remove four black stickers to expose CD changer mounting holes.





18. Install the three metal brackets to CD changer with the supplied screws





NOTE:
Four 10 mm bolts (6 mm X 1.0 X 16 mm) are required to mount the CD changer in the cargo trunk.

These bolts (P/N 11290-06163) are not included in the kit.





19. Mount CD changer to trunk of vehicle using the four 10 mm bolts.





20. Install cover over CD changer.





21. Reassemble all removed components in reverse order.

22. Install the negative battery cable and test the CD changer and all components, making sure they are functioning properly.

23. Install new cargo area mat (P/N 85710-39503-MC) with cut-out to accommodate new CD changer.

24. Reset the customer's pre-set radio stations.
