Automatic Reprogramming Procedure
1. Remove any software cards from the Hi-Scan and insert the new Reprogramming Card (yellow label).
2. Connect the Reprogramming Adapter to the Hi-Scan.
3. Connect the Red 10 pin connector to the Reprogramming Adapter.
4. Insert the Hi-Scan cigarette power adapter into the cigarette lighter socket.
5. Insert the power cable from the Reprogramming Adapter into the cigarette power adapter.
6. Connect power to the Hi-Scan from the cigarette power adapter.
7. Connect the Red 10 pin connector to the white reprogramming connector on the XG300.
NOTE:
When you reach under the instrument panel, above driver's right foot, the white reprogramming connector is to the left of the DLC connector.
8. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
9. Turn the Hi-Scan ON and press ENTER.
Select "06. XG P028/2-3 Shift Shock"
10. Select option "01. XG P0128/2-3 Shift Shock Auto Mode".
11. Enter "1229" as the password for the automatic update mode and press ENTER.
12. The Hi-Scan will establish communication.
13. Hi-Scan checks the PCM's current program ID's.
14. The Boot Program will download first, then the Main Program will download a few seconds later.
The Main Program will take approximately 10 minutes to download. The Interrupt Vector will download a few seconds later.
NOTE:
An error message may appear after the Boot Program is downloaded. The Hi-Scan will automatically retry the download process. It is not necessary to do anything at this time. If the Hi-scan tries several times and does not download the program, go to the Manual Update Procedure.
WARNING:
DO NOT INTERRUPT THE REPROGRAMMING AT ANY TIME. THE MODULE MAY BE RENDERED INOPERATIVE IF THE PROGRAM DOES NOT DOWNLOAD COMPLETELY.
15. Hi-Scan re-initializes the system after updating.
16. Hi-Scan checks the ECM and TCM ID's to confirm reprogramming is complete.
Press ENTER and turn off the Hi - Scan.
After reprogramming is complete, the transaxle and A/C load adaptive values must be reset. If the adaptive values are not reset, engine surging with A/C on and transaxle shift shock may be experienced.
