Wiper and Washer Systems: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONAll the functions of the front wiper & washer circuits are controlled by the position of the wiper and washer switch in the multifunction switch and ETACM.
Wiper Operation
When the wiper switch is in INT and ignition switch is in ON, the wiper motor relay coil is energized through ETACM. Battery voltage applied to the front wiper motor and the front wiper motor is grounded at G02 through closed contact of the wiper motor relay, When the wiper switch is OFF and the front wiper is not in rest position, the front wiper motor is grounded at G11(DOHC), G16(V6) through auto parking switch in the front wiper motor and the front wiper goes to the reset position. When the wiper switch is in LOW or HI, battery voltage is supplied to the front motor directly and grounded through G04.
Washer Operation
When the washer switch is pulled, the front wiper (controlled by the ETACM) wipes the window several times after the washer fluid sprays on to the front window.
