Hazard Warning Lamps: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONTurn Lamps
With the hazard switch in OFF, and ignition switch in ON or START, battery voltage is applied from fuse 12 to the turn/hazard flasher unit. The solid-state flasher unit senses the turn switch position through the coil control and alternately applies and removes battery voltage to the turn switch. Voltage is applied to the turn signal lamps/side repeater lamps and indicators dependent upon the turn switch position.
Hazard Lamps
With the hazard switch depressed (ON), battery voltage is applied from fuse 2 to the turn/hazard flasher unit. The solid-state flasher unit senses that the hazard switch is in the ON position and alternately applies and removes battery voltage to the turn signal lamps/side repeater lamps and both indicators at the same time.
