6 CD CHANGER RESET PROCEDURE
DESCRIPTION:
If the CD changer in the H460 (also referred to as J290 in the owners manual) radio stops playing a CD, will not eject a CD, or will not load additional CDs, but the radio will still play, the radio should be reset. If the radio resets and resumes proper function, the repair is complete. The radio should not be replaced.
PROCEDURE:
1. Verify the radio operates, but the CD changer does not play, eject, or load CDs.
Verify the CDs are not generic CDs that are too thick or too thin.
2. Record the radio stations in memory. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position and remove it from the ignition.
3. Remove the shipping power connector that feeds the radio backup memory power.
4. Wait a minimum of 5 minutes.
5. Reconnect the shipping power connector.
6. Turn the ignition key to the "Accessory" position, then turn on the radio. If the radio can be switched to the CD mode, load and eject disks, the radio has been successfully reset.
7. Program the radio station presets, and set the clock.
