DESCRIPTION:
The 2006 Hyundai Azera is equipped with low-profile windshield wiper arms. The passenger side wiper arm, in its parked position, cannot be lifted more than 10 mm off the surface of the windshield without coming into contact with the hood panel. This is an attribute of the design. The wiper arm should NOT be removed and adjusted to clear the hood panel when lifted for service and cleaning. The driver side wiper arm, in its parked position, can be completely lifted off the surface of the windshield.
When servicing or cleaning of the wiper blade or windshield is necessary, use one of the two procedure options provided in section 6 of the owner's manual, "Replacing the passenger side wiper blade".
OPTION 1:
Place the windshield wiper switch in the "OFF" position and raise the wiper arm 10 mm from the windshield as illustrated. Service or clean as necessary.
OPTION 2:
Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and place the windshield wiper switch in the "LO speed" position. When the windshield wiper arm is at the top of its travel, turn the ignition switch "OFF". The windshield wiper arm will stop as illustrated. Service or clean as necessary.
