Immobilizer Programming Procedure - Existing PCM (ECM)
When programming new keys or re-programming existing keys to an EXISTING PCM (ECM)1. You must have all of the newly cut keys and any of the customer's remaining keys at this point. Any key that is not programmed (or re-programmed) during this programming procedure WILL NO LONGER START THE VEHICLE.
2. Obtain the vehicle specific PIN code (6 digits) from your Service Manager using the Hyundai Dealer website, www.hyundaidealer. This 6 digit PIN code is required to program any new and existing immobilizer keys to the vehicle using the Hi-Scan tool.
^ To obtain the vehicle specific PIN, visit www.hyundaidealer.com and enter the site using your dealership's Dealer Code, User ID, and Password.
^ On the introduction screen, select Service from either the top or left navigation box.
^ From the SERVICE menu on the left, select 'Immobilizer'.
^ The next screen will ask for your Service Manager's established Security ID and VIN. Enter information and click 'Submit'.
^ The PIN will now be displayed.
^ Note the PIN code and proceed with programming.
3. Insert the first newly cut or existing key into the ignition switch and turn the ignition to the "ON" position. DO NOT START THE VEHICLE. Connect the DLC connector on your Hi-Scan tool to the vehicle DLC port and turn the Hi-Scan on.
4. Select vehicle, 'GRANDEUR' (Azera).
5. Select 'IMMOBILIZER'.
6. Select 'Teaching'.
7. In this screen, input the 6 digit PIN code obtained from the Hyundai Dealer website and press 'ENTER'.
8. With the first key in the ignition, the screen will prompt you, "1st KEY TEACHING ARE YOU SURE? [Y/N]". Press 'YES'.
9. The screen will then prompt you, "1st KEY TEACHING COMPLETED".
10. Remove the 1st key from the ignition switch and insert the 2nd key. Turn the ignition to the 'ON' position and pause for a minimum of 3 seconds.
11. The screen will now prompt you, "2nd KEY TEACHING ARE YOU SURE? [Y/N]". Press 'YES'.
12. The screen will then prompt you, "2nd KEY TEACHING COMPLETED".
13. Repeat steps 10-12 for the 3rd and 4th key in the set.
14. Note: You must use the 'ESC' key to exit to the main menu and save/enable changes.
15. Programming complete.
IMMOBILIZER PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE - NEW PCM (ECM):
If the PCM (ECM) has been replaced on the vehicle, the following procedure must be used after obtaining the vehicle specific PIN code.
1. If the PCM (ECM) has been replaced, the Hi-Scan tool will display the PCM (ECM) status as 'VIRGIN'. The 'VIRGIN' status indicates that the PCM (ECM) has not yet had a PIN code associated with it.
2. You must have all of the newly cut keys and any of the customer's existing keys at this point. Any key that is not programmed (or re-programmed) during this programming procedure WILL NO LONGER START THE VEHICLE.
3. Obtain the vehicle specific PIN code (6 digits) from your Service Manager using the Hyundai Dealer website, www.hyundaidealer.com. This 6 digit PIN code is required to program the new and existing immobilizer keys to the vehicle using the Hi-Scan tool. Refer to this TSB for details.
NOTE:
It is very important that this PIN code not be shared or displayed with anyone. This is a secure code and should be treated the same as a vehicle key code.
4. Insert the first newly cut or existing key into the ignition switch and turn the ignition to the ON' position. DO NOT START THE VEHICLE. Connect the DLC connector on your Hi-Scan tool to the vehicle DLC port and turn the Hi-Scan on.
5. Select vehicle, 'GRANDEUR' (Azera).
6. Select 'IMMOBILIZER'.
7. Select 'TEACHING'.
8. In this screen, input the 6 digit PIN code obtained from the Hyundai Dealer website and press 'ENTER'.
9. With the first key in the ignition, the screen will prompt you, "1st KEY TEACHING ARE YOU SURE? [Y/N]". Press 'YES'.
10. The screen will then prompt you, "1st KEY TEACHING COMPLETED".
11. Remove the 1st key from the ignition switch and insert the 2nd key. Turn the ignition to the ON' position and pause for a minimum of 3 seconds.
12. The screen will now prompt you, "2nd KEY TEACHING ARE YOU SURE? [Y/N]". Press 'YES'.
13. The screen will then prompt you, "2nd KEY TEACHING COMPLETED".
14. Repeat steps 11-13 for the 3rd and 4th key in the set.
15. Note: You must use the 'ESC' key to exit to the main menu and save/enable changes.
16. Procedure complete.
