NOISE FROM BELLHOUSING

DESCRIPTION:

Some 2006 Azera and Sonata 3.3L vehicles may exhibit a rattling or growling noise in the bellhousing area of the automatic transaxle. Please follow the repair procedure shown below to diagnosis this condition.

NOTE:
There are no performance issues associated with this condition.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Use a stethoscope to determine the location of the noise. If the noise originates from the bellhousing area and the vehicle is produced prior to May 04, 2006, remove the transaxle.





2. Check if the ring gear can be moved relative to the hub. If so, replace the C.P.S. wheel plate assembly, P/N 23200-3C130.
