Keyless Entry - User Option Feature

KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM USER

OPTION FEATURE

MODEL: 2006 SONATA

DESCRIPTION:

The 2006 Model Year Sonata contains two user option features that can be enabled or disabled using the Hi-Scan tool.

Auto Door Lock Status: This feature offers an option to briefly sound the horn after the transmitter lock button is pressed twice in a row. This gives an audible confirmation that the alarm has set and the doors are locked.

Arm/Disarm By Key: This feature allows arming and disarming the alarm system using the key.

NOTE:
Both the Auto Door Lock Status and Arm/Disarm By Key features are "enabled" from the factory.

PROCEDURE:

1. Plug the Hi-Scan Pro into the 16 pin Data Link Connector (DLC) located to the left of the steering wheel under the instrument panel.





2. Turn the Hi-Scan Pro ON and press ENTER.





3. Select option "01. HYUNDAI VEHICLE

DIAGNOSIS" and press ENTER.

4. Select the 2006 model year Sonata and press ENTER.





5. Select option "09. BODY CONTROL MODULE" and press ENTER.





6. Select option "06. USER OPTION" and press ENTER.





7. Select option "ARM/DISARM BY KEY (+RK)"
and/or "HORN ANSWER BACK (+RK)" by using the up/down (_/_) direction button.





8. Select ENABLE or DISABLE by using the left/right direction button. Press ENTER when complete.

9. Press ESCAPE to exit the User Option menu.

10. Disconnect the Hi-Scan tool from the DTC.

11. Confirm the desired setting.
