SEAT BELT REMINDER LIGHT AND CHIME FREQUENCY LOGIC

MODEL: 2006 SONATA

DESCRIPTION:

Effective September 15, 2005 production, the logic for the front seat belt reminder lights and chime frequency has been changed.

Driver's Seat Belt Reminder Light and Chime:

^ When the ignition key is turned to the ON or START position or when the front driver's seat belt is unbuckled with the engine running, the seat belt reminder light will blink and the chime will sound for 6 seconds to remind the driver to fasten the seat belt.

^ If the vehicle is not moving or the vehicle speed is under 6.0 MPH (10 km/h), the blinking light and chime will not repeat.

^ If the seat belt remains unfastened and the vehicle speed is above 6.0 MPH (10 km/h), the seat belt reminder light will blink and the chime will sound 10 times at 300 second intervals.

Passenger Front Seat Belt Reminder Light (No Chime):

^ When the ignition key is turned to the ON or START position, the passenger seat belt reminder light will blink for 6 seconds (with or without an occupant present).

^ With an occupant in the front passenger seat and the seat belt unfastened, if the vehicle is not moving or the vehicle speed is under 6.0 MPH (10 km/h), the blinking light will not repeat.

^ If the seat belt remains unfastened and the vehicle speed is above 6.0 MPH (10 km/h), the seat belt reminder light will blink continuously for an additional 300 seconds.
