Subject:
REDUCTION OF BATTERY DRAIN DURING VEHICLE STORAGE

DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin provides the locations of power connectors installed in TUCSON, SONATA, and AZERA models and describes how to connect and disconnect the power connectors.

All Hyundai vehicles are equipped with a power connector (short connector) that prevents battery drain resulting from parasitic current flow during transportation from the factory to your dealership.

During Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), the power connector must be properly installed to allow the interior lights and audio system to function normally.

If the vehicle has to be stored for a long time, the power connector should be disconnected to prevent battery drain.

However, when the vehicle is delivered to the customer, the power connector must be re-installed.
