Removal and Replacement
POWER STEERING OIL PUMPCOMPONENTS:
REMOVAL
1. Remove the front wheel and tire from the hub.
2. Raise the vehicle and drain power steering fluid.
3. Remove the dust cover (A).
4. Remove the pressure hose (A) from the oil pump and the suction hose (B) from the suction pipe, then drain the power steering oil.
5. Release the tension of the power steering belt by lifting the auto-tensioner pulley.
6. Remove the drive belt from the pulley of the power steering oil pump.
7. Remove the power steering oil pump assembly (A) by removing the bolts as shown below.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the oil pump (A) to the oil pump bracket.
Tightening Torque Nm(kgf-m, lb-ft) 35-55(3.5-5.5, 25.3-39.7)
2. Install the drive belt by pulling the auto tensioner.
3. Install the suction hose (B).
4. Install the pressure (A) hose to the oil pump.
Tightening Torque Nm(kgf-m, lb-ft) 55-65(5.5-6.5, 39.7-47)
NOTE: Install the pressure hose being careful so that it does not twist and come in contact with other components.
5. Add power steering fluid (PSF-4).
6. Bleed the system.
7. Check the oil pump pressure.
