DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides the additional steps necessary to remove the rear brake caliper in 2007 and 2008 MY Elantra vehicles.
The access to the rear caliper lower mounting bolt (A) is obstructed by the upper control arm. The photo above provides this bolt view after moving the upper control arm to increase accessibility to the caliper bolt (A).
The service procedure below provides the steps necessary to remove the rear brake caliper.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Lift the vehicle off the ground and remove the rear wheel and tire assembly.
2. Slightly loosen the rear upper arm mounting bolt (A) on the frame without removal.
3. Remove the rear upper arm mounting bolt (B).
- Tightening torque: 100 - 120 N.m
(10.0 - 12.0 Kgf.m, 72 - 87 lbf.ft)
4. Lower the rear upper arm (C) as shown.
5. Remove the rear brake caliper assembly by unfastening 2 mounting bolts (D).
6. Reinstall all removed parts in the reversed order of removal.
