IMPORTANT:
DEALERS MUST PERFORM THESE CAMPAIGNS ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR.

IMPORTANT:
WHEN A VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ACCESS HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA'S "WARRANTY VEHICLE INFORMATION" SCREEN VIA WEBDCS TO IDENTIFY OPEN CAMPAIGNS.

DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin describes two campaign repair procedures. Identify the open campaign(s) for the affected vehicle and conduct the appropriate campaign repairs accordingly.

CAMPAIGN 099:

Campaign 099 provides the procedure to install a protective cover over the Weight Classification System (WCS) wiring connector to prevent contamination from liquid spills. If the connector is contaminated, it may result in airbag warning light illumination.

Vehicles Affected: 2007-2009 Elantra Vehicles produced from July 14, 2006 through November 1, 2008.

CAMPAIGN 100:

The driver's Seat Track Position Sensor (STPS) detects the fore and aft position of the seat to allow the driver's airbag to deploy at the appropriate pressure. In some vehicles, an unstable STPS electric signal may prevent the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) from determining the position of the seat, resulting in airbag warning light illumination. Campaign 100 provides the procedure to reprogram the ACU to repair this condition.

Vehicles Affected: 2007-08 Elantra Vehicles produced from July 14, 2006 through August 29, 2007.
