Service Procedure





1. Start the vehicle's engine or turn to IGN ON and connect a battery charger (10 A/Hr setting recommended). If the engine is not started and the vehicle is connected to a battery charger, ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position and the HVAC blower fan is OFF.

Note:
Turn to IGN ON by pressing the SSB (Start Stop Button) twice, without placing your foot on the brake pedal.

2. Press the CCP (Center Control Panel) knob DOWN to acknowledge the caution screen message.





NOTE:
Record the customer's AM, FM and XM radio stations.





3. Ensure that there are no discs in the changer mechanism by pressing the eject button [B] for 3 seconds. This will eject ALL discs that may be in the mechanism.

Verify that the message, "No Disc" is displayed on the screen.

[A] Vol Knob [B] Eject Button [C] Load Button.

4. Press the load button [C] and insert update disc DVD1 when prompted.





5. After a few moments, the LCD screen will display a "Disc Error" message indicating the disc is a "non-playable format" disc. This is normal.

Note:
Wait 10 seconds after the disc is inserted before proceeding to the next step.





6. Enter the S/W update menu by simultaneously pressing the [D] DISC/AUX, [E] BACK, [F] NAVI/MENU buttons while pressing the [A] VOL KNOB.





7. Using the CCP, scroll the focus bar down to 'SW Update' on the left side of the display screen, and 'jog' the CCP to the right.





8. Highlight "Update from CD" and press the CCP down. Then select "Start selected update".

IMPORTANT:
When beginning the Disc1 update, carefully watch the start of the process for 3 minutes, return after 20 minutes (total time) and watch for 3 minutes, and then return after 70 minutes (total time).

9. After the successful download and installation of the S/W in Disc1,the system will re-boot once again and display the splash screen for a few seconds.





10. The caution screen disclaimer will be displayed once again. Press the CCP down to acknowledge the disclaimer.

11. Press the Eject button and remove Disc1.





12. Enter the S/W update menu by simultaneously pressing the [D] DISC/ AUX, [E] BACK, [F] NAVI/MENU buttons while pressing the [A] VOL KNOB.





13. Using the CCP, scroll the focus bar down to "SW Update" on the left side of the display screen, and 'jog' the CCP to the right. Select the "HW Device ID" as shown on the screen to the right.





14. The "HW Device ID" will be shown on the screen. Write down this ID number on the Repair Order, then select "OK". This ID number is required to get the "Map Authentication Code from the call- center or call-center website in the next step.

Retrieve the Map Authentication Code by using one of the following procedures:

A) From the designated call-center:

Make a call to the following number and ask to get the "Map Authentication Code". You will be asked for the "VIN", "HW device ID" and Dealer Code.

Call Center #: 1(888) 757 - 0010

OR

B) From the designated internet website:

http://www.mapnsoft.com/bhevent





Check on "Dealer" and type in your dealer code, VIN, HW device ID and the Discs Serial Number (4D01-XXXXX) located on the outside of the clear package.

After getting the authentication code from the call center, write it down in the Repair Order and push down on the CCP to select "NEXT".

15. Press the load button and insert Disc2 when prompted.





16. Enter the 51W update menu by simultaneously pressing the [D] DISC/AUX, [E] BACK, [F] NAVI/ MENU buttons while pressing the [A] VOL KNOB.





17. Using the CCP, scroll the focus bar down to 'SW Update' on the left side of the display screen, and 'jog' the CCP to the right.





18. Highlight "Update from CD" and press the CCP down. Then select "Start selected update".





19. The user authentication guide screen will display.





20. The authentication code should be entered on the pop-up screen as shown to the right, using the CCP, then select "OK".

NOTE:
The authentication code should be entered during update of Disc2 only.





21. Start the update by selecting Yes and pressing the CCP down.





22. The 51W download process will begin and a download progress indicator will appear for a few moments.





23. The system will then re-boot. You will see the system's splash screen momentarily.





24. The installation progress indicator will now be displayed and the installation will begin.

IMPORTANT:
When beginning the Disc2 update, carefully watch the start of the process for 3 minutes, return after 20 minutes (total time) and watch for 3 minutes, and then return after 50 minutes (total time).





NOTE:
If you get error 0x1101 on the screen, press (H) XM, (E) BACK, (F) NAVI MENU, Rotate knob (G) at the same time to reset the head unit. Begin step # 6 again to enter the S/W update menu and re-enter the Authentication Code.





25. After the successful download and installation of the S/W in Disc2, the system will re-boot once again and display the splash screen.





26. The caution screen disclaimer will be displayed. Press the CCP down to acknowledge the disclaimer.

27. Press the Eject button and remove Disc2.

28. Repeat steps 15 18 to perform the installation of Disc3 and Disc4.

NOTE:
Disc3 and Disc4 installation procedures do not require the input of the authentication code. If the system asks for the authentication code on Disc3 and Disc4, eject and start the disc over.

NOTE:
When beginning the Disc3 update, carefully watch the start of the process for 3 minutes, return after 20 minutes (total time) and watch for 3 minutes, and then return after 50 minutes (total time).

29. After completing the installation of Disc4, the system will re-boot once again and display the splash screen.

30. The caution screen disclaimer will be displayed. Press the CCP down to acknowledge the disclaimer.





31. Press the INFO/PHONE (I) button as shown in the photo. The Info screen will appear as shown.





32. Press INFO/PHONE again to enter the phone menu.





33. Select Phone Book --> New Entry.





34. Select "1@" in the speller and then, "OK".





35. Enter "##0324#0704##" and select "OK".





36. In the Engineering Menu, select "Software" and press down on the CCP.





37. The new S/W Version should display:

HyundaiBH: 18.001--> DIS Head Unit.

HDD version: NA_9.1.10--> Navigation Map Database.





38. Shift the CCP back to the left to select the left side menu. Scroll down to "Diagnostics and press CCP.





39. Scroll down to "Diag Component Status" and press CCP.





40. Scroll down to "Power Tuner and press CCP.





41. Scroll down to "SW. Vers." and verify version information.

SW Vers: 10.20.50 (or 10.20.4A)

NOTE:
Before proceeding to the next quick check process, shut down the vehicle - ACC off.

NOTE:
- Wait for more than 3 minutes and do not touch the brake pedal.

- Do not open/close doors since this will cause the system to wake-up.

42. Start the vehicle engine. Press the CCP down to acknowledge the disclaimer.





43. Press the AM/FM button on the CCP panel.

^ Using the CCP dial, jog to the left of the screen and highlight "Local Stations".





^ The right side of the screen should now be

populated with a list of local (strong) FM stations.

44. Press the XM button on the CCP panel.

^ Using the CCP dial, jog to the left of the screen and highlight "Channel List".





^ The right side of the screen should now be populated with the XM Channel List.

--> Check whether an XM station is correctly playing and whether the correct channel name displays on the upper status bar.

--> Check whether the Channel List shows all XM channels correctly.

--> Check whether the Category List shows all XM categories correctly.

NOTE:
The vehicle must be outside with a clear view of the southern sky for the Channel List to populate correctly.

45. If different, change the default state value from MI (Michigan) to the customer's state of residence.





^ Press the NAVI/MENU button, jog the dial to the right of the screen, and highlight ADDRESS. Press the CCP knob down.





^ From the Smart Speller, jog the dial down to highlight STATE/PROV. Press the CCP knob down.





^ Using the Smart Speller, spell the state. Alternately, you may simply move the dial to the left and select the state from the list. Once you have selected the state from the list, press the CCP knob down to change the default state.





^ The upper left-hand of the screen should now display the new default state. In this example, the default state has been changed to AZ (Arizona).





46. Press the button on the steering wheel for voice recognition and check for a 'Beep' sound.





47. Press the MAP button on the CCP panel and drive the vehicle a short distance (e.g. 1 city block) with at least (2) changes in heading. Ensure that the vehicle icon on the screen matches the actual location and direction.

48. Program the customer's AM, FM and XM radio stations and verify that they are functioning normally.
