C1278 Acceleration Sensor Front-LH Malfunction - W/Harness Inspection
Terminal and Connector Inspection
1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminal condition.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
Power Circuit Inspection
Check for open or short
1. Disconnect front-left acceleration sensor connector.
2. IG "ON"
3. Measure voltage between power terminal of front-left acceleration sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 5 V
4. Is the measured value within specifications?
Ground Circuit Inspection
Check for open
1. IG "OFF"
2. Disconnect front-left acceleration sensor connector and ECS ECU connector.
3. Measure resistance between ground terminals of front-left acceleration sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Below approx. 1 Ohms
4. Is the measured value within specifications?
Signal Circuit Inspection
Check for short
1. IG "OFF"
2. Disconnect front-left acceleration sensor connector and ECS ECU connector.
3. Measure resistance between power terminal and signal terminal of front-left acceleration sensor harness connector.
4. Measure resistance between ground terminal and signal terminal of front-left acceleration sensor harness connector.
Specification : Infinite
5. Is the measured value within specifications?
Check for open
1. IG "OFF"
2. Disconnect front-left acceleration sensor connector and ECS ECU connector.
3. Measure resistance between signal terminal of front-left acceleration sensor harness connector and signal terminal of ECS ECU harness connector.
Specification : Below approx. 1 Ohms
4. Is the measured value within specifications?
