Smart Cruise Control
C1636 TCS Invalid ACCEL_REF_ACC - General Information
Component Location
General Description
SCC (Smart Cruise Control) is a system added additional function that can keep distance from the car ahead safely according to speed of the car ahead by using radar sensor to existing conventional ACC (Auto Cruise Control) function. SCC recognizes the closest one among the cars ahead on front line as control target when vehicle goes straight. But in case of the vehicle being in a curved lane, SCC recognizes the closest one within same lane among the cars ahead as control target although that is not on the front line. Target acceleration/deceleration value is determined according to relative speed and distance against target vehicle. ESC ECU calculates vehicle accel./decel. value based on four wheel speed sensor signal. This value is used for calculating relative speed.
DTC Description
ESC ECU monitors acceleration/deceleration demand value received from SCC. In case of the value out of range, ESC ECU transmits a message, which represents acceleration/deceleration request value out of range, to SCC. SCC sets this code when this message from ESC ECU is received. System recovers to normal condition as soon as the signal is alright again.
