Rear Door Side Curtain

Overview

Rear door curtains shield the vehicle's inside from sunlight and provides privacy for rear passengers.
- Switch-operated power curtains (rear LH and RH doors).
- Rear curtain switch and power window switch is a single unit.
- Rear door curtain control is available at the driver's seat as well.
- Both rear LH and RH passengers can control both rear door curtains.

Door Curtain ECU
The door curtain ECU determines whether the curtain should be raised or lowered based on digital RLDM (RRDM) switch and motor sensor signals. In addition, the ECU monitors whether or not the curtain has been completely lowered or is in the process of rising.

Drive Unit
The drive unit features a sensor that detects the curtain's movement and direction of movement, a motor, and a gearbox designed to leverage the motor's power. The motor pushes or pulls flexible antenna wires to raise or lower the curtain. Lastly, a flap door has been added to the top section of the door trim to neatly stow the curtain away when not in use.

Switches
1. Remote Operation
DDM can be used to remotely operate the rear windows and curtains. RLDM (RRDM) analyzes switch operation signals to determine whether the window or the curtain needs to be operated.
RLDM (RRDM) features two switches. The 2 switches control the concerned door's window and curtain, whereas the switch toward the interior of the vehicle controls the opposite door's window and curtain (via a serial communication line).
2. Switch Operation
Power window and curtain switches operate as follows:

3. DDM and RLDM (RRDM) Switch Controls
DDM and RLDM (RRDM) controls are as follows:

Curtain Control Time Chart
1. Curtain Switch Input
All signals received while switch operation is in progress are ignored.

2. Reverse Signal
If a reverse signal is entered while the curtain is being lowered or raised, the reverse signal will immediately override the current action regardless of whether or not the action has completed.

Safety Feature
If an object is detected while the curtain is being raised, the curtain will immediately stop and revert back down to the fully lowered position.

Reset
System reset essentially resets the curtain position to improve precision. The system can be reset either manually or automatically.
1. Automatic Reset
RLDM (RRDM) automatically resets the curtain after every 200th operation to relearn curtain position data.
2. Manual Reset
If curtain operation seems imprecise, manually reset the system to recalibrate curtain position data. Hold the window switch in the up position for ten seconds.

NOTE:
1) Does not reset during auto up.
2) The system can be reset from DDM, RLDM or RRDM (Except ADM).

Rear Door Curtain Reset Procedure
Manual Reset

** There is no realation with window glass position.
Manual Reset Procedure
- When door curtain position is bottom : Curtain UP -> FULL expansion -> Curtain DOWN -> Reset complete
- When door curtain position is top : Curtain DOWN -> Curtain UP -> FULL expansion -> Curtain DOWN -> Reset complete
Caution In Manual Reset Procedure
1. Hold the window switch in the 1 click UP state (Manual Up) for 10 seconds then manual reset procedure is started.
A. There is no realation with window glass position
2. Make sure that IGN ON during manual reset procedure.
A. There should be occurred error in ACC or IGN OFF because of low voltage.
3. If another switch module interrupt the reset procedure switch(during 10 seconds), reset procedure is canceled.
ex) If RRDM curtain is operated by RLDM switch during RRDM manual reset procedure, RRDM reset is canceled.
4. Do not operate the rear door curtain during manual reset procedure.
