DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin describes the actions that should be taken if a SONATA (YF) HEV High- Voltage battery is discharged at an abnormally high rate resulting from an empty fuel tank or HEV system malfunction.

NOTE:
When vehicle runs out of fuel the vehicle will run on EV mode limited in vehicle speed as the following SOC levels are reached as indicated by this table. The vehicle should be gradually reduced down towards a stopped condition as HEV Battery SOC falls from 30% down to 25% (GDS indicated SOC). Engine should be able to run again and charge back the HEV Battery after fuel is added so long as it did not fall below 20% SOC. 15-20% SOC can only be started by GDS.
NOTE:
When a vehicle runs out of fuel it will be indicated by READY flashing and the HEV Service Light may also come on.
