Terminal and Connector inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






Signal Circuit Inspection

Check short to battery in harness
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect the ECM and IDB connectors.
3. IG KEY "ON".
4. Measure voltage between injector signal terminal of IDB harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx. 0V




5. Is the measured voltage within specifications?





Check short to ground in harness
1. IG KEY "OFF"
2. Disconnect the ECM and IDB connectors.
3. Measure resistance between injector signal terminal of IDB harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Infinite




4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?





Check open in harness
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect the Injector and IDB connectors.
3. Measure the resistance between both ends of the injector signal harness.

Specification :Approx. 0Ohms




4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?
