Repair Procedures
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
2. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the seat belt anchor pretensioner (A).
3. Remove the following parts.
A. Door scuff trim
B. Center pillar trim
4. Remove the upper anchor bolt.
5. Disconnect the Seat Belt Pretensioner connector(A) and PSB connector(B).
6. Loosen the Seat Belt Pretensioner mounting bolt and remove the Seat Belt Pretensioner.
Installation
1. Remove the ignition key from the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least three minutes.
3. Install the Seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT) with a bolt.
Tightening torque [Bolt B]:
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)
4. Connect the Seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT) connector and PSB connector.
5. Install the upper anchor bolts.
Tightening torque:
39.2 - 53.9 N.m (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb-ft)
6. Install the following parts.
A. Center pillar trim
B. Door scuff trim
7. Insert the seat belt to the anchor pretensioner.
NOTE:
Make sure the lock pin is connected in properly.
8. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
9. After installing the Seat Belt Pretensioner (BPT), confirm proper system operation:
A. Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
PSB Variant Coding (Driver PSB only)
In case replacement the new driver PSB, should be variant coding with GDS.
CAUTION:
Driver PSB unit is produced for vehicle with LDWS. Therefore variant coding process should be operated to vehicle without LDWS.
Variant coding Procedure
1. Connect the GDS after ignition OFF.
2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF" and select the PSB LEFT system.
Select the "PSB Variant coding".
3. Set according to screen message, click the "OK".
4. Click the "C1" for vehicle with LDWS. Click the "C2" for vehicle without LDWS.
5. Click the "OK" after complete message is popped up.
