Electronic Stability Control
C1274 Longitudinal G Sensor-Electrical - General Information

Component Location

General Description

The ESC system(It is equally said ESP system) is the shorten word of Electronic Stability Control system. This system recognizes a critical driving condition by Yaw-rate sensor, Lateral acceleration sensor and Steering angle sensor. And then it stabilizes the vehicle by a individual wheel braking and engine torque control through CAN communication. Among components of this system, the Longitudinal G sensor is installed on the lower of the center console. This sensor is used for EPB control. In a case of EPB(Electric Parking Brake) system applied on the vehicle, the yaw-rate sensor, longitudinal G sensor and lateral G sensor are installed together in the one container which is called as "Cluster". The HECU recognizes the gradient of an incline by this longitudinal G sensor's signal.

DTC Description

The HECU monitors the signal of the longitudinal G sensor for a normal operation and if its signal is detected out of the normal range, this DTC is set.
