B1490 PODS(Passenger Occupant Detecting System) Sensor(Bladder) Defect - General Information

General Description

In order to make normal activation of airbag system, SRSCM detects DTC(s) for the Passenger side Body Detection System.
If the seat is occupied, Bodysense sensor detects how passenger weighs and send signal to ACU via CAN.
ACU recognizes the signal as 3(three) different classifications; that is, 0(Empty), 1(Small), 2(Large).With these signal, ACU determines whether it needs to deploy PAB(Passenger Airbag) or not.

DTC Description

The Passenger side PODS-F sensor Mat & ECU sets DTC B1490 if the Passenger side PODS-F sensor Mat & ECU detects internal error.
