Description:
This bulletin describes the procedure to set the user option on a BlackBerry phone to properly display a contact person's name and number when dialing an outbound call from the mobile phone.

*NOTE
The following described symptom is a characteristic of the Blackberry phones' operating system.
The vehicle's audio/navigation system is operating to specification.
When dialing an outbound call from the BlackBerry mobile phone, the audio Bluetooth system screen displays the contact person's name stored in the phonebook as "Unknown".
The BlackBerry operating system adds the "National Dialing Code, 1" in front of the contact number and displays as "Unknown".
The contact person's name and numbers are stored correctly in the handset phonebook.
The contact name displays correctly when making an outbound call from the vehicle's Bluetooth hands-free system or receiving an incoming call (if the phonebook download was completed).
The procedure below describes how to change the user option setting in a BlackBerry phone to properly display a contact person's name with number.
Service Procedure:
*NOTE
The BlackBerry mobile phone "BB9330, Curve" is shown in the pictures.
1. From the Blackberry phone "Home screen, press "Call" button.
2. Press "Menu" button.
2. Scroll and select "Options".
3. Scroll and select "Smart Dialing".
5. Scroll to "National Dialing" option and select to choose.
6. Scroll and select "No".
7. Press "Menu button".
8. Scroll and select "Save".
9. After saving the menu settings, check to ensure the audio Bluetooth system screen displays the contact person's name and number properly when dialing an outbound call from the BlackBerry mobile phone.
