Tire Pressure Monitor Receiver / Transponder: Description and Operation





Description




1. Mode
(1) Virgin State
A. The receiver is a single component and that is virgin state.
B. VIN numbers and the sensor ID have not been entered.
(2) Normal State
A. Receiver should be steady-state to monitor the tire pressure.
B. From the initial state, driving about 5 minutes or more, at a speed of 20kph or more automatically will switch to the normal state.
2. Overview
A. Receives RF data from sensor.
B. Uses sensor data to decide whether to turn on TREAD Lamp.
C. Learn TPM sensor for under inflation monitoring automatically.
D. Uses sensor information, tire pressure, tire temperature, and acceleration information vehicle battery level, internal receiver states to determine if there is a system or a vehicle fault.

Operation

1. General Function
A. Automatic learning begins when driving after stops 19 minutes.
B. On successful completion, 4 road wheel sensor ID's are latched into memory for monitoring.
C. Until Auto-learn completes, previously learned sensors are monitored for under inflation / leak warnings.
2. General Conditions to Learn New Sensors:
A. Automatic learning of new the sensor typically finishes when about 5 minutes driving at speeds above 20kph or go up to 10 minutes can be that.
3. General Conditions to Un-Learn a sensor that is removed:
A. Automatic learning of the existing the sensor finishes driving about generally two minutes , more up to 10 minutes with at a speed of 20kph.
