Selector Shaft: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Remove the following items;
A. Engine cover.
B. Air cleaner assembly and air duct.
C. Battery and battery tray.
2. Set shift lever to N position.
3. Separate the control cable from the control shaft after remove the pin (A) and washer (B).
4. Remove the control shaft assembly after loosen the bolts.
Tightening torque:
19.6 - 26.5 N.m (2.0 - 2.7 kgf.m,14.5 - 19.5 lb-ft)
Installation
1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
NOTE:
- When installing, set control shaft lever to neutral position.
- When installing, apply the sealant as shown in the illustration.
Specified sealant :MS 721-40 or MS721-38
2. After installing, check to be sure that this part operates as designed at each range of T/M side corresponding to each position of shift lever.
