Repair Procedures
Removal
CAUTION:
- When removing and installing the trunk lid, an assistant is necessary.
- Take care not to be closed the trunk when removing the push rod.
- Wear gloves to protect hands from injury.
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Remove the left trunk trim in the trunk.
3. Remove the power trunk connecting rod (B) after removing the push rod pin (A).
NOTE:
- Only remove the gas lifter when removing the whole trunk assembly.
4. Remove the power trunk module & drive unit (A) after removing the bolts, nut and connector.
Installation
1. Install the power trunk module & drive unit.
Tightening torque :
22 - 27 Nm (2.2 - 2.7 kgf.m, 15.9 - 19.5 lb-ft)
2. Install the push rod to the ball joint.
3. Connect the connector (18P).
4. Install the left trunk trim.
5. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal and check the power trunk module correctly.
NOTE:
- Connect the connectors tightly.
- Check the power trunk lid for normal operation correctly.
WARNING:
- A lost drive unit mounting bolt in the vehicle may make a noise.
- Don't operate the power trunk lid when a push rod is removed.
- A learn cycle must be performed whenever the power is removed.
- Check the normal operating whenever a power tailgate component is removed or replaced. If the chime sound is heard, check the DTC, wiring harness and cable connections.
