Repair Procedures





Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the negative terminal (A) from the battery.

Tightening torque :
4.0 - 6.0N.m (0.4 - 0.6kgf.m, 3.0 - 4.4lb-ft)




2. Remove the air duct, air intake hose and the air cleaner assembly.
3. Loosen the drain plug (A) and drain the engine coolant. Remove the radiator cap (B) to speed draining.

WARNING:
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious scalding could be caused by hot fluid under high pressure escaping from the radiator.








4. Disconnect the ETC module connector (A) positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (B), the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV) hose (C) and the water hoses from the intake manifold module and the throttle body.




5. Remove the throttle body.
6. Remove the engine coolant temperature control assembly (A).

Tightening torque :
16.7 - 19.6 N.m (1.7 - 2.0 kgf.m, 12.3 - 14.5 lb-ft)




7. Remove the O-ring (A).





NOTE:
Always use a new O-ring.

8. Installation is reverse order of removal.
