HOW TO ERASE DTC
The diagnostic trouble code can be erased by the following methods.

With CONSULT
Selecting "ERASE" in the "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode with CONSULT.

With GST (Generic Scan Tool)
Selecting Mode 4 with GST (Generic Scan Tool).

Without Tools
Changing the diagnostic test mode from Diagnostic Test Mode II to Mode I by turning the mode selector tools on the ECM.
- If the battery terminal is disconnected, the emission-related diagnostic information will be lost within 24 hours.
- When you erase the emission-related diagnostic information, using CONSULT or GST is easier and quicker than switching the mode selector on the ECM.

The following data is cleared from the ECM memory in the mode obtained.
1. Diagnostic trouble codes
2. 1st trip diagnostic trouble codes
3. Freeze frame data
4. 1st trip freeze frame data
5. System readiness test (SRT) codes
6. Test values
7. Others
Actual work procedures are explained using a DTC as an example. Be careful so that not only the DTC, but all of the data listed above, are cleared from the ECM memory during work procedures.
