Maintenance Requirements
NOTE: The SRS (Air Bag) system should be inspected by a INFINITY dealer after 120 months (10 years) from the date the vehicle was manufactured, which is noted on the Certification label on the lefthand front door.After removing any SRS components, discard old bolts and replace with new ones.
1. Turn ignition On and note air bag warning lamp and seat belt warning lamp operation. These lamps should light for approximately seven seconds, then go off. If warning lamp(s) remains lit or does not light at all, an SRS condition is present. Refer to "Diagnosis and Testing.
2. Inspect sensors, diagnosis sensor unit and mountings for damage and corrosion. Ensure arrow markings on sensors and diagnosis sensor unit are facing toward front of vehicle. Also inspect wiring and electrical connectors for damage, proper connections and routing. Replace components as necessary.
3. Inspect air bag control unit and bracket for damage and proper mounting. Also inspect wiring and electrical connectors for damage, proper connections and routing. Replace components if needed.
4. Inspect main and instrument panel wiring harness for chafing, poor connections and other conditions, and repair or replace as necessary.
5. Inspect spiral cable for secure mounting to lock pins. Also inspect flat cable and protective tape for wear and damage.
6. Inspect steering wheel for noise, binding or excessive freeplay. Inspect air bag and other wiring routed through steering wheel for damage and proper connections. Replace or correct routing of indicated components.
7. Inspect alignment and mounting of air bag to steering wheel and correct as necessary. Also inspect air bag wiring harness for proper routing and connections.
