SERVICE INFORMATION

As of April of 2001, some 2001 and later QX4 vehicles have been equipped with a DVD version of the Infiniti Mobile Entertainment System.

^ This bulletin provides a general overview of the DVD System.

^ It also includes DVD System test procedures and diagnostic flow charts.





The DVD Mobile Entertainment System consists of component parts shown. The majority of the wires and connectors (mostly 6 or 8 pin DIN style) are integrated into the vehicle harness. The DVD Mobile Entertainment System is also connected to the vehicle's radio.





The DVD version of this system is very similar to the Hi-Fi VCR version released earlier, with the matching remote control and how these pieces operate being the only differences. If a customer wishes, the Hi-Fi VCR with its matching remote from the earlier system can be purchased and used in this vehicle for greater flexibility.





NOTE:
The remote controls are not interchangeable between the systems. The DVD unit's remote control will only operate the DVD unit. The Hi-Fi VCR's remote control will only operate the VCR (see Figure 2).
