TRANSFER CASE OIL LEAK

APPLIED VEHICLE:
2001-03 QX4 (JR50)

An applied vehicle has an oil leak coming from the Pressure Port Plug on the transfer case (see Figure 1).

ACTION:

^ Remove the transfer case. Refer to the removal and installation procedures in the applicable Service Manual.

^ Remove the old Pressure Port Plug, clean up the hole and surrounding area, then install the NEW Pressure Port Plug (P/N 31306-2W510).

NOTE:
The new Pressure Port Plug is self-sealing.

^ After re-installing the transfer case, check for leaks by running the vehicle on the lift for 5 minutes.
