SERVICE INFORMATION

If the navigation system on an applied vehicle exhibits the symptoms listed below, use the following Service Procedure to resolve the incident.

"Map Matching" Symptom
The Map Matching symptom is a condition where the vehicle icon, that shows the vehicle's position on the navigation screen, is displayed on the side of the road instead of on the road.

"3D Icon Missing" Symptom
The 3D Icon Missing symptom is a condition where the 3D icon, which represents certain places on the navigation system screen, is missing.





IMPORTANT:
^ The Program CD-ROM (see Figure 1) containing the latest navigation operating system software upgrade was sent to all Infiniti dealer Service Managers on August 31, 2000.

^ This software upgrade (1LK32022 & SD3US017) supercedes all previous upgrades. Please discard all previous software upgrade CD-Roms.

^ The table on page two (titled: "Program CD-ROM Version Release Information") provides detailed information for each Program CD-ROM version release.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Confirm which navigation system software version the vehicle is equipped with using the "Check the Map CD-ROM Version" procedure contained on the following Service Manual pages: EL-490 for I30, EL-560 for Q45 and EL-23 for QX4.

A. If the vehicle is already equipped with the latest software version (i.e., 1LK32022 or SD3US017), look for other causes of the incident(s). Refer to the Service Manual for diagnosis procedures.

B. If the vehicle is not equipped with the latest software version (i.e., 1LK32022 or SD3US017), install the latest software version (listed above).
