Service Procedure
1. Open the rear hatch.2. Remove the bumper side cover.
^ Hold the cover as shown in Figure 1A.
Pull the cover straight back as shown in Figure 1B.
3. Remove the rear combination lamp mounting bolts.
4. Hold the lamp with both hands and pull straight out to the side.
5. Remove harness wires from the clip.
6. Remove the side marker lamp bulb socket and the access cover by turning them counterclockwise.
7. Remove the foam tape from the connector shown in Figure 6.
8. Disconnect the lamp connector shown in Figure 7.
9. Install the new rear combination lamp in reverse order of removal.
^ Make sure you use new foam tape (included in the rear lamp kit) around the connector shown in Figure 6.
^ Mounting bolt torque for rear combination lamp: 3.2 N.m (0.33 kg-m 28 in.lb).
10. Reinstall the bumper side cover.
1st Insert the bottom end then
2nd Push in the top.
3rd Push along the edge until the entire cover snaps into place.
11. Make sure to install a new rear combination lamp for both sides (left and right).
12. Make the old rear combination lamps unusable by drilling a 3/8 inch hole in the lamp lens.
NOTE:
There is a three day warranty parts hold before scrapping the lamp assemblies.
