Navigation System - Screen Stuck in 'PLEASE WAIT' Mode

NAVIGATION SYSTEM STUCK ON "PLEASE WAIT" SCREEN

SERVICE INFORMATION

IF YOU CONFIRM:

An Applied Vehicle's Navigation System displays the words "Please wait" on the screen for more than three minutes.

ACTIONS:

Perform the Software Upgrade Loading Procedure, using the Navigation System software upgrade CD-ROM that will be mailed to Infiniti dealers.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

NAVIGATION SOFTWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE

1. Start the engine.

2. Open the cover of the Navigation Control unit and press the Eject button to remove the map DVD-ROM.

3. Insert the program CD-ROM, with the label side UP, into the slot on the unit.





4. If not automatically selected, choose the software version number with the joystick. See chart.

5. Press the Enter button.

6. Choose OK.

7. Press the Enter button.

NOTES:
^ The download should take between 3 - 7 minutes.

^ Do not turn the ignition off during loading.

^ Do not remove the program CD-ROM during loading.

^ During loading, the picture on the monitor may disappear for a moment - this is normal.

8. Then the message "Replace a disc" appears, remove the program CD-ROM. The loading has been completed.

9. Re-insert the map DVD-ROM, with the label side UP, into the slot on the Navigation Control unit.

10. Press the MAP button to display the System Start-Up screen.

11. Select "I Agree" once, and then once again when prompted.

If the Navigation screen continues to show "Please wait" for more than three minutes:
