System Specifications
CYLINDER HEAD BOLT REUSABILITY
Cylinder head bolts are tightened by plastic zone tightening method. Whenever the size difference between d1 and d2 exceeds the limit, replace them with new one.
Limit (d1 - d2): 0.18 mm (0.0071 inch)
If reduction of outer diameter appears in a position other than d2, use it as d2 point.
Follow the steps below to tighten fixing bolts in the numerical order shown in the figure to install cylinder head.

CAMSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT BEARING
Cylinder head bolts.
Step a Apply engine oil to threads and seating surface of bolts.
Step b 98.1 Nm (10 kg-m, 72 ft. lbs.)
Step c Completely loosen all bolts.
Step d 44.1 Nm (4.5 kg-m, 33 ft. lbs.)
Step e Turn all bolts 60 degrees clockwise. (Angle tightening)
Step f Turn all bolts 60 degrees clockwise again. (Angle tightening)

Intake Manifold Bolts
Camshaft brackets bolts:
Step a No. 9 to 12 to 1.96 Nm (0.2 kg-m, 1 ft. lbs.)
Step b No. 1 to 8 to 1.96 Nm (0.2 kg-m, 1 ft. lbs.)
Step c No. 13 to 14. (Left bank only) to 1.96 Nm (0.2 kg-m, 1 ft. lbs.)
Step d all bolts to 5.88 Nm (0.6 kg-m, 4 ft. lbs.)
Step e No. 1 to 12 to 10.41 Nm (1.1 kg-m, 8 ft. lbs.)
Step f No. 13 to 14 (Left bank only) to 31.35 Nm (3.2 kg-m, 23 ft. lbs.)
Exhaust Manifold Nuts
^ Install exhaust manifold in the numerical order shown in the figure.
^ Tighten nuts No. 1 to No. 4 in two steps. The numerical order No. 9 to No. 12 shown second steps.
