Cylinder Head Assembly: Specifications
CYLINDER HEAD BOLT REUSABILITY
Cylinder head bolts are tightened by plastic zone tightening method. Whenever the size difference between d1 and d2 exceeds the limit, replace them with new one.
Limit (d1 - d2): 0.11 mm (0.0043 inch)
If reduction of outer diameter appears in a position other than d2, use it as d2 point.
Follow the steps below to tighten fixing bolts in the numerical order shown in the figure to install cylinder head.

Cylinder head bolts.
Step a 98.1 Nm (10 kg-m, 72 ft. lbs.)
Step b Completely loosen 0 Nm (0 kg-m, 0 ft. lbs.)
CAUTION: In step "b", loosen bolts in the reverse order of that indicated in figure.
Step c 39.2 Nm (4.0 kg-m, 29 ft. lbs.)
Step d "90" degrees clockwise (angle tightening)
Step e "90" degrees clockwise again [target: 90 degrees (angle tightening)].
Intake Manifold bolts.
1st step 7.4 Nm (0.75 kg-m, 5 ft. lbs.)
2nd step 29.0 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 21 ft. lbs.)
3rd step and after 29.0 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 21 ft. lbs.)
Camshaft brackets.
Step a; No. 7 to 10, then tighten No. 1 to 6 in order as shown 1.96 Nm (0.20 kg-m, 1 ft. lbs.)
Step b; No. 1 to 10 in numerical order as shown 5.9 Nm (0.60 kg-m, 4 ft. lbs.)
Step c; No. 1 to 6 in the numerical order as shown 10.4 Nm (1.1 kg-m, 8 ft. lbs.)
Step d; No. 7 to 10 in the numerical order as shown 9.3 Nm (0.95 kg-m, 7 ft. lbs.)
Cylinder head bolts.

Exhaust Manifold stud bolts 14.7 Nm (1.5 kg-m, 11 ft. lbs.)
Intake Manifold bolts.
1st step 7.4 Nm (0.75 kg-m, 5 ft. lbs.)
2nd step 29.0 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 21 ft. lbs.)
3rd step and after 29.0 Nm (3.0 kg-m, 21 ft. lbs.)
Camshaft brackets.
Step a; No. 7 to 10, then tighten No. 1 to 6 in order as shown 1.96 Nm (0.20 kg-m, 1 ft. lbs.)
Step b; No. 1 to 10 in numerical order as shown 5.9 Nm (0.60 kg-m, 4 ft. lbs.)
