Body Harness Connector Replacement
Body Harness Connector Replacement (left or right side)1. Stretch out the vehicle seat body harness and identify-by wire colors-the connector for the buckle pre-tensioner (see Figure 16).
2. Cut the harness at about 25 mm (1 inch) behind the connector (see Figure 16).
3. Remove about 75 mm (3 inches) of vinyl tape from the four wires.
4. Connect (solder) the new body connector harness wires to the body harness wires you just cut.
^ Select the correct harness Kit (RH or LH)-listed in the Parts Information.
^ Use Solder Sleeve Connectors (listed in the Parts Information) and Flameless Heat Gun - J-45538.
WARNING:
The wire colors on the new connector should be exactly the same as the wire colors on the body harness.
It is critical that the wire colors be matched correctly between the new connector and the body harness.
The wire colors are as shown.
NOTE:

5. Bundle or fold the repaired wires to the correct length as follows:
Drivers Side
^ Measure from the branch point to the back of the connector.
^ Length: 135 mm +/- 5 mm
^ Use one piece of vinyl tape to temporarily hold the wires in place while adjusting the length.
Passenger Side
^ Measure from the branch point to the back of the connector.
^ Length: 135 mm +/- 5 mm
^ Use one piece of vinyl tape to temporarily hold the wires in place while adjusting the length.
6. Use vinyl tape to wrap (cover) the bundled wires.
7. Reinstall the seat into the vehicle.
^ Refer to the ESM section SE for seat installation information. Make sure to follow all WARNINGS and CAUTIONS.
^ Make sure all wire harnesses are routed correctly to prevent pinching or chafing.
^ Seat mounting bolt torque: 49 N.m (5.0 Kg-m 36 ft.lb)
8. Reconnect both battery cables positive cable first.
9. While looking under the seat move the seat back/forth up/down etc. in all adjustable positions. Watch carefully to make sure the wire harnesses are not being pulled or pinched.
10. Use CONSULT-II to erase any air bag DTCs.
11. Reprogram the radio station presets and reset the clock.
