SERVICE INFORMATION

The QX56 front seat belt system has two parts:

^ The Retractor assembly is attached to the body or "B-Pillar".

^ The Buckle assembly is attached to the seat.

Both of these assemblies have pre-tensioners.

If the vehicle you are working on has a pre-tensioner related DTC make sure you find out which pre-tensioner assembly is causing the stored DTC.

For a list of DTCs (and repair information) for each pre-tensioner refer to SRS.26 and SRS.27 of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM).

^ DTCs for the Seat Belt Retractor Assembly have a title that starts with PRE-TEN

^ DTCs for the Seat Belt Buckle Assembly have a title that starts with "PRE-TEN2"

NOTE:
When diagnosing DTC(s), always be sure to visually check the electrical connection at the pre.tensioner and vehicle harness connection points.
