2007-2008 QX56; DOOR MIRROR REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

IF YOU CONFIRM

The driver or passenger side door mirror glass needs to be replaced for any reason.

ACTION

Ensure that the mirror glass is installed properly with the metal damper blades correctly aligned.

See the Service Procedure in this bulletin for details.

NOTE:
If the metal damper blades are not correctly aligned during replacement:





^ Driver's (left) side mirror will not move inward (to the right).

^ Passenger (right) side mirror will not move inward (to the left).

SERVICE PROCEDURE

NOTE:
^ The door mirror assy. does not need to be removed to perform this procedure.

^ This service procedure can be used for either the left or right side mirror.

^ The images in this bulletin are for the left side mirror.

1. Remove the mirror from the housing assembly.





^ For 2007 QX56 refer to section GW in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for removal and installation procedure.

^ For 2008 QX56 refer to section MIR in the ESM for removal and installation procedure.

Note the location of the damper ramps and metal damper blades. They need to be aligned correctly when the mirror is installed.





2. Install the mirror in reverse order of removal. Make sure the metal damper blades are positioned inside the damper ramps.

3. After fully seating the mirror onto motor-housing confirm the mirror works by pressing the power mirror switch.
